Keep an eye out for free or close to free school supplies in the next few weeks. There are some great deals at Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS/Longs. This is a great time to stockpile notebook paper, pencils, etc. Better to pay 9cents now than full price later. This week CVS, has quite a few great deals on notebooks, erasers, calipers, staplers, sticky notes, pencils, etc. All free till Tuesday.

Speaking of "back to school," Thrift Center (820 E. Shields) is taking 50% off everything in the store for back to school. The sale is on Aug. 14th or 17th (call them to find out for sure, 559-225-0239). They have a ton of clothes and books.
And, speaking of thrift stores, my friend Megan just self-published a zine that is part memoir, part Fresno-thrift-store directory. It's a pretty handy tool for planning shopping trips (I buy most everything second hand now), and it's a really fun read too.
Check her out at etsy.com (search terms: therecyclingethic, fresno zine).
