Free/low cost sports

Sports Programs:

Karate Program
Cost: FREE
Where: Classes are held at four Local Neighborhood Parks:

Mondays @ Hinton Center 5:30PM - 7:30PM
Tuesdays @ Ivy Center 4:30PM - 6:30PM
Wednesdays @ Fink-White Playground 5:30PM - 7:30PM
Thursdays @ Frank H. Ball Playground 5:30PM - 7:30PM

Midnight Basketball Summer League
When: Beginning July 5, 2006 thru August 18, 2006, Mon. - Thurs.
Who: Boys and Girls High School Age (only)
Where: Frank H. Ball Playground Gym
Cost: Free
Time: 6 pm - 11 pm

Eight Team Girls League Monday/Wednesday
Eight Team Boys League Tuesday/Thursday

This program has developed into one of the most recognized summer youth basketball activities in the Southwest community. It emphasizes good sportsmanship, an optimistic outlook on life and education.

Tennis Program
Where: Hinton Community Center
When: Every Wednesday and Friday
Cost: Free

3:30 - 4:30 pm for ages 5 - 8 years:
This program is designed for young children with an emphasis on fun, skills and ability.

4:30 - 5:30 pm for ages 9-11 - Future Stars:
This program is designed for players of beginner to low intermediate ability with an emphasis on technique improvement.

5:30 - 6:30 pm for ages 16 and up – Superstar:
This program includes caching players of intermediate to advanced ability with drills, videos, and group ladder player. It is designed to meet the standards of high school level competitions.

Elementary co-ed Flag Football and Flag Football League
When: 1st Week in September 2006
Who: Boys & Girls, Grades 4 - 6
Cost: Free

To sign up visit one of the following local Neighborhood parks:
Fink-White, Highway City, Ivy Center, Frank H. Ball, Sunset Center, Holmes, Dickey, Lafayette & Hinton Center

Games will be played at Frank H. Ball and Holmes Playground.

This program is designed for young children and emphasizes fun and developing good sportsmanship.

T-Ball Baseball

A non-competitive instructional league that teaches the basic fundamentals of baseball to 5, 6 & 7 year olds. Cost is $12. Children play two evenings a week for 5 weeks.
