ACTIVITIES AND COST
Recreational Swimming - Recreation Swim is held from 1pm-5pm daily at all pools, except Bullard High. The cost is $0.75 for children under 18 and $2.00 for adults.
Swim Lessons - Swim Lessons are available for everyone, age three and up. There are four 2-week sessions offered at most of our facilities, with classes available both morning and evening. Classes are 35 minutes long. Cost is $30 per session, two or more sessions $20. Individuals meeting low-income guidelines as established by PG&E's FERA Program cost is $15 per session.
Water Aerobics - We have aerobics classes available at Airways, Mosqueda, Frank H. Ball and Fresno High. These classes will be offered June through August. The cost is $1 per day.
Swim Team - For the more experienced swimmers, each pool has a swim team. The teams practice several times weekly, and compete against other pools in three swim meets during the summer. All participants will receive a team t-shirt. Cost and practice times very per facility. Please call the Aquatics office for more information.
Pool Rentals - Airways, Mosqueda, Frank H. Ball and Mary Ella Brown pools are available for party rentals from May to September. Rentals may be made for Saturdays or Sundays, from 5pm to 9pm. Please call the Aquatics office to reserve a facility.
Lifeguard Training and Employment - CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training Classes are offered April through June. Anyone interested in becoming a lifeguard for the City of Fresno is encouraged to sign for these classes and apply at the Aquatics Office as soon as possible! Class Descriptions:
The PARENT-TOT Class
Water Adjustment skills taught through the parent to the first-time and/or intimidated swimmer.
The STARFISH Class
Water adjustment, personal water safety skills, comfort in the water, and working with others are emphasized.
The TADPOLES Class
Students are exposed to basic swimming skills, such as breath control, paddling, kicking, and floating.
The GOLDFISH Class
Improves Tadpoles skills and introduces buoyancy, body position, propulsion, and coordinated strokes.
The SHARKS Class
Increases swimmers' endurance, water safety skills and introduces them to additional coordinated strokes.
The DOLPHIN Class
Students are taught coordination of movements in order to swim more smoothly, efficiently and for longer distances.
The JUNIOR GUARD Class
4 weeks of introduction to life guarding skills for youth 12 - 15 years.
The SNORKELING Class
Learn snorkeling Tuesdays through Thursdays at Bullard Pool. Must provide your own mask, fins and snorkel; Must be 7 years old.
The ADULT BEGINNER Class
Beginning level swimming for adults (evenings at Fresno High School Pool).
The WATER EXERCISE Class
Stay in shape while your kids learn to swim at Mosqueda, Airways, Bullard and Frank H. Ball Pools.
